7 Places {Coming and Going in Hoboken} in September

Fall has officially arrived, our summer shares are over, and it is time to spend weekends back in our beloved Mile Square city. Now you’re probably wondering what you’ve missed during your time down the shore, and we’re here to help. Here are seven Hoboken places coming and going in September.

We say hello to…

1319 Washington Street might be a familiar address to you because it was home to our beloved Las Olas that recently shut their doors. Nevertheless, do not fret, Apulia is coming to replace the hole in our hearts! Apulia will open as a new Italian and wood-fired pizza restaurant perfectly fitting into the Uptown scene.

Seven Valleys

According to a note on their door, Seven Valleys will be “serving Persian cuisine… serving humanity” in uptown Hoboken. Yum! From the current bwe kafé owner, Seven Valleys will be setting up home at 936 Washington Street. An opening date is TBD, and we cannot wait!

The Ferryman on 1st

The Ferryman on 1st will take over the old Marty O’Brien’s spot on the corner of 1stand Bloomfield, a popular barhopping corner. PS, you may recognize the owner as Sean Hession, owner of popular Hoboken spot, Willie McBride’s. If you know Willie’s, you’ll know this spot will be a hit.

THE MAX Challenge

A popular, nationwide fitness facility, THE MAX Challenge has opened up in Hoboken with Cassandra Wilson leading the way. Kick some booty and keep that summer bod in shape with their challenge programs. You can find them at 537 Washington Street.

The Pig & Parrot

The Pig & Parrot opened their doors to the public earlier this month in the former Hotel Victor spot. The Pig & Parrot is a Key West type bar & grill with tropical food and drink menu, as well as a tropical atmosphere & music featuring the likes of Bob Marley, Jimmy Buffet, and Kenny Chesney. A little slice of paradise in our own backyard!

Warby Parker

Warby Parker recently announced via their Instagram that they’re opening up a retail location in Hoboken soon, “after much prepping and planning, we’re thrilled to announce that we’re opening our very first store in New Jersey tomorrow! We’re excited to kick things off in Paramus at @gsplaza, then roll out stores in Westfield and Hoboken later this year.” I recently ordered three sets of their try-on kits, so I am pretty excited to not have to run to the post office almost every week.

We say goodbye to…

Wok to Walk

On August 31, 2018, we bid farewell to Wok to Walk located at 91 Washington Street. Known for their delicious stir-fry to go, Wok to Walk blessed Washington Street for about a year. But don’t worry, you can still get your stir-fry fix at Washington Street staple Honeygrow.

Lindsay grew up in the middle of nowhere, Connecticut, where cell service wasn’t a thing (for real, “No Service” was a constant notice on her phone). But her love for pizza and all things marketing & social media brought her to the big city, and eventually to Hoboken. Lindsay is on a constant search for the best slice of Buffalo Chicken pizza and the best Bacon, Egg & Cheese on a croissant…Any suggestions?! When she is not eating or drinking, you can find her biking up the Hudson River Walkway or traveling the world. She also swears that death glare isn’t directed at you, she just has a case of RBF. She actually really likes people!
