We made it through the longest month of the year, congratulations! Now it’s time to celebrate by hitting up the newest kids on the block in Hoboken…and also mourn the loss of one of our local favorites. Here are Hoboken’s openings and closings from January 2020.

Ok, sorry to get your hopes up, Baked By Melissa isn’t opening up a Hoboken location as of now (one can dream), but they are now offering free same-day delivery to Hoboken! This is basically perfect timing for Valentine’s Day, so get your sweetie something sweet.

The newest bwè kafe location opened up in January at 1401 Adams Street, making this their third location! One of the best parts about this location? They teamed up with Little City Books to add in a reading area! According to their Instagram, “it’s so cute and FULL of books! There’s even have a dedicated corner for kids!” Obsessed.

The first F45 Training to come to Hoboken opened last month! Located at 720 Monroe Street, this rapidly growing, nationwide gym is ready for you to lift those weights and HIIT the gym (see what I did there?), and you can do it all in just 45 minutes!

Pastrami House

Pastrami House opened in January at 832 Washington Street, and they’re here for all your sandwich and deli needs. With sandwich creations like the Hot Pastrami, The Sloppy Joe, and The Reuben, you’re bound to find your new favorite meal here. They also serve meat by the pound, old-school favorites, and breakfast platters.

DC’s Tavern

One of the oldest standing bars in Hoboken, having been around for over two decades, DC’s Tavern has officially announced they are closing soon.

hMag reported: “There won’t be much of a wake or funeral for DC’s. Aside from the events this Thursday, [2/6] and Friday, [2/7], there isn’t much planned. They’re not even sure when they’re actually going to close.”

Also, DC’s Twitter handle reported: “Yes, we are closing, but a date has not been announced. This Thursday is NOT the closing. That will be in the next few weeks.”

RIP to one of the best local bars around, we’ll miss ya.

Lindsay grew up in the middle of nowhere, Connecticut, where cell service wasn’t a thing (for real, “No Service” was a constant notice on her phone). But her love for pizza and all things marketing & social media brought her to the big city, and eventually to the other side of the river. Lindsay is on a constant search for the best slice of Buffalo Chicken pizza and the best Bacon, Egg & Cheese on a croissant…Any suggestions?! When she is not eating or drinking, you can find her biking up the Hudson River Walkway or traveling the world. She also swears that death glare isn’t directed at you, she just has a case of RBF. She actually really likes people!
